Speaking at PHPNW10

Just a quick note as am really shocked and grateful to be speaking at this years PHP North West Conference in the UK.
I shall be presenting a talk entitled “Using Zend_Tool” which I hope that many people will find useful.

If you haven’t got your ticket yet, please do. The Conference is not only a great way to learn new things but it’s also a great place to socialise with your fellow developers.

I Hope to see you all there.

Plans

Recently i’ve been working on new bits and pieces for projects.. updating existing items and working towards having a nice base of extended components for both Zend Framework and jQuery.

On My Workbench at the moment is an update to the keyz jQuery plugin which adds all but the keychain functionality to the system. Also have been working on a multi page form component for Zend Framework.

Still working on working out the kinks in both before making a release.

Yesterday (May 4th — Star Wars Day .. lol) saw me sign the Zend Framwork Contributor License Agreement and send it off to Zend. Still no word as yet, but fingers crossed.

I’ve also bought myself an XBOX 360 (and a few games), you’ll find me on XBL as my usual nick.

Things seem to be going well at the moment, but only time will tell.

Ada Lovelace day 2009 – @LornaJane #ALD09

Today is Ada Lovelace day and as such, we are prompted to write about someone we admire who is female and is involved in technology.

For my Post today I have chosen LornaJane. This stems from many reasons, which over the course of this post I hope to explain.

Long Night of Editing

Recently it seems that i’ve been suffering with a distinct lack of enthusiasm for any sort of coding.

I’ve been trundling through the latest site (http://www.gamers.uk.net) which is been working well for the most part..

Over the last few days I’ve not really wanted to do any sort of work on it at all or anything else really. Friday is the deadline and so the next few nights I’m going to have to put in some late nights to get it all complete.

Things that are bugging me:

  1. Why couldn’t the client tell me about the postage when I asked them before?
  2. Why is it so difficult to get the energy to work when you work from home?

Oh well, suppose I best put myself back to work

Hello world!

Hi, Not sure what I’m going to be doing much with a blog but still someone mentioned to me that PHP isn’t as Popular in the world as say Ruby on Rails due to the lack of people blogging. So Basically I thought I should try to make something of the space i have set up.

So anyway.. hopefully I will make good use of it :)
